Installed in less than 10 minutes including removing the old Kwikset and changing the lock to make it work with the current family member key. Incidentally, this key change works perfectly on the first try. It helped that both locks had 6WAL deadbolts so I didn't have to fiddle with that part. Also nice is that this Kwikset lock doesn't have the so called 'self lock' feature like Schlage and possibly others. I locked myself in a friend's house while sitting with a dog that had Schlage locks. Never understood this function. If you need to get out so fast you can't turn the lock, that split second won't make any difference anyway. What might matter is that people get blocked and die because someone thought it was a "good idea". Anyway, great castle Kwikset. Why buy anything else?
