Review on πŸ”Œ Kalolary 6 Pin PCIe - 2 x PCIe 8 (6+2) Pin, 6PIN to Dual 8PIN Graphics Card PCI-e Express VGA Splitter Power Extension Cable (4 Pack) by Aaron Stewart

Not 18AWG. closer to 22 AWG, can get about 200W via

Specification: Some say the wires are 18 AWG or about 1.02mm. I cut and measured several conductors in one of these and sawed 0.67mm (between 21 and 22 AWG). Generous, a conductor came in at 0.69mm. still less than 21 AWG. So you're looking at 5-6 amps per line at 12v. Or let's say about 200 watts across the entire plug. That should be enough for a GTX1070, but a 1080TI under full load can ruin this fork. Aside from that I've used about 5 of these plus as donors to build custom DC power converters powered by my ATX power supply. My design requires just under 15A from the 12V rail under absolute peak conditions, so this connector (using six pairs of 21-22 AWG wires) is more than adequate.

Pros
  • PCI EXPRESS POWER CABLE: The adapter connects a PCIe graphics card with an 8-pin PCIe connector to a power supply with only a 6-pin PCIe power connector; Make sure your power supply is rated to power your graphics card.
Cons
  • No power
