Review on J Junsun 10 Inch Mirror Dash Cam W/ Front & Rear 1080P, 170° Wide Angle View + Backup Camera, G-Sensor Parking Monitor & Night Vision by Steven Thelin

This Mirror Dash Cam is an Excellent Value and Works Great.

I, like most of you, read numerous reviews about all kinds of dash cams, but I'm really pleased with this particular one; let me explain why. This cam is installed in a Chrysler Crossfire, which has terrible blind spots due to its tiny rear hatchback window and massive c-pillars. The car's rear window is so small and narrow you are totally blind when backing out of a parking spot for a few feet, until the side windows are useful. My intent was to find a rear camera system that would enhance the rear-view mirror and be on all the time when driving, and this setup works amazingly well. For starters, I wanted a system that fills the entire mirror, not just the center portion. this one does just that. The 10 inch, full view screen is stunning. The 170 degree viewing angle is wider than you'll ever see in any rear view mirror. The mirror controls are fine. you mostly set it and forget it. So when I start up my car, the mirror cam turns on and defaults to the rear view camera and stays on the rear camera the entire time I'm driving, of course both front and rear camera are still recording all the time. This setup is like augmented reality as you can't naturally see this much stuff behind you in real life. All I did was not hook-up the reverse light wire (its neatly tucked away in case I want to hook it up) as this wire turns the rear camera view on when you shift into reverse and off when your shift out of reverse. One feature that I love is the ability to swipe the screen up or down which digitally moves the rear view image up or down in small increments. this is a brilliant feature as it allows you to see how close your bumper is to another car while parking by swiping down. Swiping up moves the image up to normal rear view driving position. The camera doesn't physically move, just the image, very nice feature. If you swipe left and right you switch between the front and rear camera. Fortunately, I have not needed to save and/or view any "shock" data recording, and I hope I'll never need to. Its nice to know I'll have 1080P digital video evidence if I ever need it. It's only been a few months since installation, so the long-term durability is unknown. Installation wasn't too bad for me as I'm used to this kind of work. It was nice that they included a small plastic pry tool, it was very helpful for tucking the wires under the cars plastic trim and headliner. I've found that the camera is quite good at adjusting for a wide range of light levels. For me, this dash cam ticked all the boxes that are important for my needs. There may be better choices if you want instant/frequent access to the recorded videos and pictures as you will need to remove the microSD card every time. not a big deal, but there are other systems out there that integrate with smart phones. Overall, I'm really pleased with this dash cam. - Steve
