Although I use them to organize electrical cords around the house my main reason for buying them was to save my Christmas tree. Year after year my cats used the lower branches as a bed. The branches were bent, but could always be bent back. However, he stopped working that year. I bought a pack of 12" cable ties with them. I can tie the bottom row of branches to the row above and the branches to the row above. I used to wake up every morning to fix branches that bent overnight. For the first time since receiving the tree I don't have this problem. I also use them to attach fairy lights to a tree. I will use them to do the same for my outdoor lighting. The best part about this purchase is that I get twice as many ties for half the price of my local store. (One thing I would like to add for those reading this who choose to use zip ties for the same method of supporting the tree due to the crampons. Please be sure to use an additional zip tie to ensure the crampons do not move caught in any of the loops!)
