Zero problems and lots of freedom

Storage for older devices is becoming increasingly difficult to find these days. I had never used Komputerbay before, but the prices for the alternatives were ridiculous. I gave them a chance and haven't looked back since. I have a Shuttle All-in-One system in a small box that fits in my music studio. The computer uses a triple core AMD processor running Windows 7 (and before that XP). The maximum amount of storage this small, economical setup requires is 8GB, and I had to increase the amount of storage from the default 2GB. Reading the reviews I knew I was playing, but the game paid off. The memory worked great. I haven't had any crashes, bugs, or performance issues due to the chips. I actually had super smooth, memory-based performance. The only limitations I'm getting right now is that my processor can't keep up with new music software (so if you want a home studio, it's worth not going down the austerity route). It seems to me that the big problem with this memory is that it doesn't play well with other brands, which is understandable given the price and age of the technology. If you need memory on an old PC that only uses DDR2 memory, I think you can do a good job with this memory. Just make sure you're completely replacing your old memory and not just upgrading your existing chips, as I believe that's what causes most of the bad reviews (or not knowing your PC configuration recommendations).

Pros
  • GOLD LEADS. 100% COMPATIBLE STORAGE: 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)
Cons
