I'd like it weighted if that makes sense. It's fairly light and if it sits on your desk and doesn't move I think that would be fine. However, I have this in my living room because I needed power strips for phones, tablets, a ring charger, etc. However, if you move one of the charging cables, the entire base appears to move, so yes it does. what it's supposed to do, but the base movement is pretty annoying every time. Had I known that, I would have saved $ and just used a plain two prong extension cord, which is far less of a hassle than that triangle lying around. I'm just saying.
