Product well made but poorly designed. I purchased this item a few months ago (and can't return it) while waiting to receive new custom license plates from NJ DMV. The plates arrived earlier this week (we're talking slow service!) and I set them up with a holder. Yesterday I was stopped by the police because my number plate was sealed. It is illegal in the state of New Jersey to conceal lettering on the plate this holder makes at the top and bottom. You can't deny the charge — the inscription is actually partially obscured — and the fine is $100. The officer was nice and just warned me but told me to get rid of the owner as soon as possible. I've seen a few of these holders and I guess most people won't stop, but I don't want to risk paying $100. Check your state laws before using this holder - it may be legal in your state, but do not drive through New Jersey.
