I take great care to keep my grill clean. I'm one of those guys, I can't help it. I used to have a brush with metal bristles. I noticed she was losing her bristles and I don't want my wife or kids to die from it so I switched to this brush. After searing the meat, I turn the grill plates upside down and crank the coals to maximum. . I do this to burn off any leftover meat/fat on the grill. While the griddles are upside down, I clean the underside of the griddles. After about an hour over the coals, I turn the griddles back and clean the tops. It scratches the grill very well when the grill is hot. After the grill has cooled, I use the brush to give the grill plates a final clean before dumping out the charcoal and capping the grill. I highly recommend this grill brush.
