I had to remove the transparent screen cover because the touch sensitivity on the edges of the screen was poor. Now everything is perfect! To explain, I had a similar case for my old phone, except the clear plastic wasn't inside. Instead, I used a tempered glass screen protector. This phone has been dropped a million times and there were no scratches or cracks on the glass, so I was very lucky to find a case like this for my new J Star. I reinstalled the tempered glass in my new case and touching on the edges doesn't work to swipe down for settings etc. So I did the logical thing and removed the tempered glass and it still didn't work. There is a very small gap between the clear plastic and the phone's screen, which I think is being increased by the adhesive around the edges, making it less sensitive around the edges. I stripped out the plastic, put in tempered glass and am very happy knowing my phone can withstand all kinds of abuse and is protected from plastic bumpers and a beveled front. Note that the rubber will become less stiff as you continue to take it when you remove the case. So try to leave it on for as long as possible.
