I bought this for the price and it didn't have bad reviews on the first page like some others. I think I have a lot. It came with instructions and I found it very easy to set up. It took me a while to figure out how to get my yarn to flow easily and not create tension on the cake I was creating, but the second I did I figured it out and the resistance, that I was worried about. the first disappeared, and I realized that the problem wasn't with the machine, but rather that I was stretching the yarn unevenly. When I found out all I had to do was wind up every partially used thread I had. I had to refrain from untying the yarn just to wind it up, it was so much fun. I definitely recommend this and if you get something that doesn't work to begin with you should return it for one like mine. Oh, and it didn't damage my desk either, although I put a piece of cardboard from the Revain box inside just in case.
