Very disappointed

Wood looks good, metal parts look like they have been poorly powder coated and are peeling. There was a broken piece that had to be glued back together. It also won't work without sanding a few pieces of metal. When I assembled everything it still doesn't work and produces crooked yarn cakes. I've watched dozens of videos and tried multiple times to set it up, but it still doesn't work properly. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • Only available in black

Not stable

I really wanted to love it. I was looking for a wooden yarn winder, settled on this one but it wasn't sturdy at all. And the pieces fell apart easily when trying to unwind the yarn. I tried different types of yarn, different sizes and textures hoping it was just yarn. It wasn't like that. All of my cakes came out wobbly and that just didn't work for me. I ended up having to send it back. I haven't seen any real way to get this to work properly.

Pros
  • Power
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

Good. The fork itself looks fantastic. The parts came disassembled in a box with no instructions or assembly instructions. It has a few large bits that I was able to place just by looking at the photos, but I think a lot of people are put off by the lack of information. My metal part that attaches it to the table was soon poorly painted, leaving the threads of the screw and the part itself decaying. Now this is a project that needs repairs and is not ready to use out of the box.

Pros
  • Ball winder
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Excellent workmanship

This is the second bead roller I've bought. My first was plastic and pretty thin. It is absolutely beautiful, very, very strong, very beautiful, almost a work of art to look at, sitting in my sewing room. And winds up my wool and yarn so well. Highly recommended for knitters who put $$$ in their skeins to roll them into balls.

Pros
  • EASY STORAGE: Removable spindle and foldable thread guide arm allow for compact storage while still being quick and easy to assemble
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

My metal part that attaches it to the table was soon poorly painted, leaving the threads of the screw and the part itself decaying. Now it's a project that needs fixing and isn't ready to go right out of the box.

Pros
  • Non-slip pad to prevent the winder from sliding/scratching on the table | Roller bearing on the spool side for free rotation, which ensures very smooth winding.
Cons
  • Expensive
