Works well. considering some very important factors. First, look at the total power consumption. My cameras are rated at 6.5 watts. Of course they add up to 13W, but that doesn't take into account the power draw of the splitter, which also draws power. Standard PoE is 15.4W. My cameras would not work at night because the IR was drawing the full 6.5 watts and overloading the splitter. So, I have a PoE+ injector with a power of about 30 watts. Worked fine for a while. not the last few weeks. The cameras kept going off. Upon opening the case I found that the splitter is very hot. I drilled a few ventilation holes but realized that wouldn't be enough. Then a colleague (I work for a security company) reminded me that the PoE ethernet standard only uses 4 of the 8 conductors in an ethernet cable. The orange/white pair is power, the green/white pair is data (assuming the 568B termination is done and the manufacturer follows a standard that can at least auto-negotiate this pinout). So, using a pair of RJ-45 keystone connectors on either end of the cable, I specifically connected two PoE Ethernet ports to the same cable, and bingo, everything works. So if your cameras are low power and likely to have no IR, and assuming the splitter is in a cool or at least well ventilated area, it works fine. But maybe not as good as some $8.99 keystone jacks for 10 sets of Revain Prime), a punch tool and a bit of understanding.
