After reading all these reviews it seems true but in a way not forgiving. If your house stinks, please use this. If not, you don't need it. If you just need a little stimulation or scent for your rug this won't work for you, I highly recommend something else. This is more for a very strong smell, it will linger with a strong perfume smell, but after two to three hours it will wear off. I would not recommend this product if you have crawling babies. It definitely has a very strong smell. As said, this can be bad, but it can also be good for carpets that really need it. To be fair I gave it four stars as one of my rooms in the house needs it but the others didn't need a scent that strong that could be toned down a bit.
