I have a 'hybrid' CIC_High head unit before BMW went fully NBT which means all my plugs were NBT style although the software was still CIC . I ordered this NBT device on the advice of Bimmerpost and hooked everything up straight away. I had to use the included mic extender and plug it into the standard mic, but all aspects of Carplay have been working flawlessly since installing it. The only thing I find difficult is the Siri volume. I can't set it up independently of the music. Especially when working with Google Maps navigation, if I turn down the volume while talking to Siri, the volume of the music is reduced. And when hovering, it's unusually loud. We need to figure out how to fix this.
