Beautiful jug. It is very transparent and looks like glass. The top cover is very tight and not easy to detach unless you want to. It will not leak if the jug is not open. The lid rotates to open it. While there's no strainer, I'm not sure how well it would work as a brew pitcher. However, I do know it works great for what we wanted, which was mint water or water infused with either lemon mint, chocolate mint, or spearmint that we grow in the garden. We just grind the leaves and put them in the picture. It's also good for anything else, like soda pop, Kool-Aid, or frozen juice reconstitution. It fits very well in the side panel of my fridge. The handle is very durable. I think this is the best mug I've ever had - I love it so much! Just note that there is no filter at all.
