The leash snapped! THE DOG IS GONE.

Cable is solid but overall this product doesn't work. I had a hard time following the setup instructions, but after a bit of trial and error I got everything working. (Honestly, I'm not the perfect candidate for the handy girl in the house.) I really wanted this to be the perfect short-term solution to keep my pup safe until we can put up a fence. We took a few practice walks along the line as my fur man wasn't sure if he wasn't just on a leash and wouldn't readily accept a bit of freedom. But I was confident and proud. Safe solution and soon a happy dog! I was wrong. The first morning I picked up my dog, she saw the animal in the woods behind our house. He ran, and in no time the leash snapped in half and he was running up the hill behind an unfortunate forest animal. The hook on the swivel buckle has no clip to prevent twisting (two nuts could be an improvement and a hook/lobster clasp would be the correct method of securing the sling). In a torrent of anger I called him for a long time and was just about to hike—in my last attempt to call him back with the promise of a treat and a walk, the good boy, clumsy on foot, came down the hill again. Good luck and a very well-behaved puppy saved this situation from total disaster. If we lived close to town or close to transport, it could cost us his life. That's perhaps the best price for the length of cord and cord - you're buying it knowing the modifications will need to be made and a secure leash.
