bought a fan to be built into a piece of furniture that we use as a tv stand / stereo component cabinet. I needed a fan to retain heat, but the fan isn't tiny and ran at full speed, and I quickly realized I had to buy a controller when I got the fan. The controller arrived quickly, took less than a minute to install, and so far the fan has been kept at a low speed so it's much quieter (you can't hear the fan at all unless you get really close to it). Very happy with the purchase and I didn't have any issues with the speed difference as others have mentioned. Mine has been stable for a few months now.
