I did the math and found I spent an extra $20 to avoid the sodium benzoate now found in cheaper 7th generation wipes. Well, how stupid am I, because look what's in these napkins! No one mentioned it, and I even did some research on some non-toxic mom sites. My guess is that when sodium benzoate is mixed with something like citric acid, it can produce benzene, which is a carcinogen. These wipes smell better than the 7th generation but are thin and wet and harder to get out of the package. The price killed my conscience. We don't have enough money to buy these wipes, but I've tried to avoid this ingredient. Spring. I'll make my own solution and use it sparingly.
