I find far too many reviews where someone gives a bad review or is just plain unfair in treating an item bought for $8 like they bought it for $80 would have spent. on topic. I see a lot of this being done in other ways too (comparing items of different value as if they were the same). Anyway, I said that so you know what I won't do. This dual window fan compares very favorably to the competition and lacks many of the options that these fans have as a result. For this low price you get: 1. Durable product2. Adjustable extension to fill the window3. Reversible fan ** You have to physically rotate it, but the power button works on both sides4. 2 power modes (low and high) + off5. Good airflow What you don't get 1. Quiet fans (These fans are noisy)2. Possibility to change the airflow direction with a switch on the control panel/remote control3. Individual fan control * When one is on, both are on * Which also means you can't set one to blow and the other to voltage4. More than 2 fan speed settings5. Auto off/on by thermometer6. Directional jets7. Remote control I have several types of other more expensive double window fans. (Some have all of the options listed above and others only a few) The only thing that let me down was the quality of the fan construction (motors and blade design). Unfortunately, the cost reduction goes beyond the more frivolous options and goes to the heart of the matter. This results in a significantly higher noise floor and is the only reason I'm deducting a star.
