I bought this converter to shoot 48 year old Super8 films I had from my school days. I was able to capture many sharp and very colorful stills from about 4 small Super8 rolls. I even took a series of about 50 shots and created a short video clip. Of course it was just to see if it worked, and it did. You can't do more, it's too exhausting. A film converter is best suited for this. As for using the device, I learned the features as I used it. It is so easy. After that, I took hundreds of photos of friends and family that I forgot I had on film. Transferring images to my computer was very easy and connecting the converter to a 32" TV with the cable provided allowed me to get a very nice large view to get the correct exposure and color adjustments. Everything in the box was well packed and showed no signs of wear. Foil push/pull issues although it had some seams and crumpled areas. I chose this product over a similar product based on higher review scores, although the other product I reviewed had many more purchases. I'm more of a buy to review ratio bias and figured this was the best choice for me. Other things I considered were the support and the seller being a US company. Hope that helps.
