First use I had water everywhere when trying to fill them. My first thought was hell. But I have a large injector that fills about 3 cubic cans with one injector charge. (Yes, this is a new injector that has never been used before.) It also helps prevent overflow which can cause the caps to freeze to the ice surface. I love her, don't get me wrong. A bit of work to fill the trays but I can handle it. They are easy to take off. I simply remove the lid, flip it over and press my thumb on each edge of the mold and then run my thumb down the center for full release. Others don't show up, so there's no confusion there. I use water from my well and put it in a water bottle because the bottle has a hole and this is the only one for me. If anything happens to them I will buy more. Recommended, yes, remember, as long as you don't spill water everywhere, everything is fine. If you don't want a mess, I recommend filling the injector.
