Bosch Rebar Cutting Tool Review

I needed this for a project my son was working on. The contractor who poured the concrete installed the rebar about 4 to 5 inches below the concrete surface. We used a magnet on a stick to make sure it was rebar. This resulted in the anchors being placed too close to the surface. So when I was looking for something to solve this problem I came across what I thought was the solution, something that could cut through the rebar so the anchors could be set at the required depth. . from 6 inches. We only found 2 holes out of 15 with a rebar problem. So when we found our first hole after getting a new rebar cutter, we followed all the required instructions and used a standard variable speed drill bit, going slow and easy. When I pulled the drill out of the hole, to my surprise, 4 of the 6 cutting teeth on the drill were missing. We put a magnet in the hole to pull out some broken teeth. Yes, he cut through the rebar, but using a router to make a hole is quite expensive, so we put it aside and resorted to a hammer drill at other anchor locations that didn't touch the rebar. I don't think I'll be ordering another rebar cutter of this design unless I'm sure it will work without breaking.
