Eventually I couldn't take it anymore and decided on a stainless steel gravity water filter system. Still, I got the cheaper one, even though these stainless steel appliances are all overpriced. I have a feeling what you get (just a pair of drilled stainless steel drums plus 2 filters for almost $300) is insane. I was expecting something more complex, but it's easy to set up, although the pivot gave me a little trouble. I bought a stainless steel spigot from the start to keep the device looking solid and I didn't want to mess with plastic. It turned out to be a leak and I had to empty everything and start over which was painful. Maybe not the fault of the water supply system. In the end, everything fell into place - the nozzle was tightened with a wrench, not "hand tight", so there are no leaks, and now I finally have the water I've been waiting for. Some kind of filtering is necessary on the well.
