Review on TEAC CD-P1260: LCD Display & MP3 Playback CD Player by Michael Mayes

Solid, Good Single CD Player

Do you know how hard it is to find a component CD player that plays only one disc? I don't like having my CD's lost in the caruousel. I always wanted the equivalent of an oold vinyl record player - you choose what you are going to listen to, and you listen to it.The negative reviews here gave me pause about this one. My only guess is that perhaps some players were knocked out of alignment during shipping, or that perhaps some reviewers don't care for their CD's very well. All I can say is that I am immensely pleased with this player. My previous players have been Pioneer, JVC, and Technics, and this one meausres up just fine.As a test, I played some (new) CD's which had been skipping on my old player. (I take immaculate care of my discs, and none is ever scratched) No problem at all. The discs load up quickly, and the sound for some reason was noticeably strong. I'm not sure what makes a difference in digital music, but I just noticed the clarity and strength of the music. The mp3 function is delightful and works well. This is a much better system than a mechanically-based carousel CD player, which has moving parts that break down. Make a CD-R of your favorite band's discography, then listen away! This also sounds great on the player.Everything About my TEAC Cd player works like it should, solid and smooth. I'm grateful that this product still exists, and I pay less for it today than I did for similar items 20 years ago!
