Review on Tripp Lite 4 Port DisplayPort/USB KVM Switch with HDMI/USB Ports, 4K 60 Hz, HDR, HDCP 2.2, IR, USB Sharing, and USB 3.0 Cables - Black (B005-HUA4) by John Hill

WITH CAUTION Great KVM Switch

First some caveats straight from Tripp-lite Tech Support:1. It is not possible to disable various "extra" features such as mouse bypass or USB detection toggle.2. There is noticeable latency for the mouse and keyboard when using dedicated ports. The only workaround is to use the forward ports.3. The default IR receiver key is *HUGE* . The Monoprice receiver works well (amzn.com/B005E2XLNM) and is much smaller. With some caveats, this is a great switch for 4k @ 4:4:4 60Hz. It also supports input switching with an IR remote (like the Logitech Harmony 650 or 665) and has TWO USB3.0 passthrough ports that work with almost any device, and you can connect a USB3.0 hub if You need more ports. .My configuration:1. Surface Laptop (v2)2. Old PC (GTX970)3. Nintendo Switch (in dock) Controlled by a Logitech Harmony 665 infrared remote, which also controls my TV.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Hard to say
