DeWalt Pilot Drills are ideal for drilling thin metal. My 3/8" cordless drill easily drills a 1/2" drill through 1/8" steel in one go—smaller holes don't need to be pre-drilled. Time savings in real time. They are difficult to sharpen due to their grind, but last a long time. This is my third set. I complain that DeWalt has cheapened the index. It is very difficult to discern the size of the drill in the back rows. Large drills are difficult to insert and remove. This index is made from stamped thin sheet metal and has a different design than drill indexes since they started manufacturing. Very difficult to use.
