Review on TEKTON 5541 2 Ton Power Puller by Brian Hrdlicka

I am writing this review to save you from disappointment and possibly your life (read more error reviews). Got it today because of the good reviews. As with all previous reviews, I cannot unwind the cord for use. The black metal housing that snaps onto the coiled cable is too tight and it won't come loose without a lot of tension (i.e. tree to tree). I tried to bend the body just enough to free it, but due to its elastic nature I was unable to do so. I also tried adding some lube to reduce friction on the case but that didn't help. I slapped my hands pretty hard before finally giving up in desperation. This item shouldn't require blood and so much effort to try and make it work (since it should be ready to use out of the box). Also, the reviewers who REALLY made it work had a few hiccups with cables and build quality (welds). I can't imagine this happening when this product is under load. I don't know why or how this product got such good reviews. Tektron's customer support is terrible. I've had zero success with them. You have to call (I wasted an hour and couldn't speak to anyone) or create an account on their website and fill out a web form. There is no direct support from Revain. I was lured by the pricing policy as if you are reading this review, you are too. But PLEASE save yourself the headache and don't buy this product! You will regret it!
