The metal box does not match the router

I had many problems with this router. His WiFi connection drops and sometimes freezes completely, requiring a reboot of the router and DSL modem. Also, for some reason, the wireless connection doesn't work with Dell laptops. So now I'll only use it as a LAN router until I can afford something else. I updated to the latest firmware and it didn't help. "Customer Service" is Mumbai Hell; The expectations are endless and the customer representatives are clueless. If you want to use this as a print server, be sure to check the site for compatibility: the number of printers that aren't compatible (or just haven't been tested, why check compatibility before advertising). it's huge. It also has problems with online and LAN gaming. All my friends play Civ IV online with no problems, but I can't always connect (I've never been able to finish an online game). Some online games (e.g. Dawn of War, Warcraft III) allow certain computers to connect to the game server and others not for no apparent reason. The Netgear website is also sketchy, with an ISP contact list for ISP connections last updated in 2005. If I had known that I would face such problems, I would never have bought it. I would not recommend this product even if you got it for free; the time and headache it will cost you is likely much more than what you pay for a reliable wireless router/print server. Even as a simple four-port LAN firewall/router, it has gaming problems. Look elsewhere if you are not a masochist.
