Review on πŸ”₯ Enhance Performance with Standard Motor Products DR46T Ignition Coil by Ryan Gilliam

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent replacement part. Good value for money.

So far they seem like a good replacement for stock coils. My Saturn has clocked up nearly 300,000 miles and had an annoying problem: if the engine revved past 3500 rpm or so, the coil would burn, causing a cylinder to fail. I've changed about 4-5 coils in the last 120,000 miles. not bad, but more than I have to go through. I suspect the problem was in the ignition control module which is why I recently replaced it and haven't killed any coils since. I've tried some aftermarket spools before - ACCEL and MSD - and thought they might be more durable than the stock replacement spool. But that's not the case. But they were more expensive, and the car didn't seem to perform better or increase fuel economy with aftermarket coils (I consistently got 40+ mpg on a daily 100-mile round-trip in the summer). So if I find I need more coils in the future I will be sure to buy more of these. but hopefully not necessary.
