Review on Philips Series 5000 Norelco Cordless Beard Trimmer πŸͺ’ with One Pass Technology and Washable Feature - Black/Silver by Elizabeth Nelson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Don't buy if you like unshaven beards!

I thought I had a better stubble trimmer. It turns out I was wrong. I don't use long combs at all, so my rating is based on stubble only. Do not use this trimmer if your beard is shorter than 3mm. The trimmer definitely cuts more hair than my Phillips bt5100 in one go, which is nice, but it cuts unevenly and too tightly if you tilt the trimmer the wrong way! I use 2mm and if you press too hard on the face or cut at an angle wrong by moving across the grain again, which is the best way to cut, you will definitely get an uneven cut. While the grip ergonomics are better than my previous 5100, the bumps are the worst. I used to have a nice beard with my 5100 and got compliments but replaced it with this junk after it broke after 5 full years. My beard would have grown evenly, but now I don't look that good with this stuff, and my stubble really makes up the majority of my look. low setting and you get bald spots. Not to mention, those bumps and the wrong pressure on my face gave me more ingrown hairs in my beard. The 5100 had far fewer problems than this one. I used to love the Phillips Norelco trimmer, but this trimmer just proves that Phillips just didn't properly test it for stubble and just added a better battery. The hair pieces also feel very flimsy compared to the 5100 which was solid and of good quality. Firstly, don't buy that stubble trim crap. I've just bought a discontinued bt5215 of which there are a few left that look like the 5100. Grab them while you can instead of this junk! I want my money back Phillips!
