I have an amp with an extra 1/8" stereo input that can be used for an MP3 player or other audio source. I thought I could do this Using cable to connect my XLR mic (Shure Beta 58) but as the amp expects an amplified signal on the 1/8th stereo jack I didn't hear any sound from my amp I have this on my mic input on my Windows 10 computer tested but had to turn the mic input to maximum to hear sound The cable works but a preamp is needed if you want to use a typical stage mic.
