Does exactly what I wanted, I don't have enough wiring in the wall to have wired control for both the light and fan to use. This device allows me to independently control fan speed and light dimming. One star off for the following: Controlling the dimmer is a bit annoying as you have to hold it down to make it brighter and then hold it down to dim it. Mounting the receiver in the fan shroud is very tight (but all of these modules are similar in this regard). I'm using it with an Emerson Northwinds fan (no K55 motor) and 3 light sets from a local shop using Cree 4flow LED bulbs. All in all a great combination that I plan to include in all my ceiling fans.
