Viking Cycle Ironside Jacket. For $60, this jacket does what it's supposed to do and more. As a 6ft 3in, 350+ guy, the 3XL fits me surprisingly well. The only thing I have a problem with, and not a big one mind you, is that the sleeves are a bit short. However, I do have some long arms, so like I said, it's not that big of a deal in my book. Now that it's out of the way, let's talk about all the good things about this jacket, and there are more than a few. Let's start with the fit first, it's perfect for a tall man. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the jacket came down to my waist. The fit is snug enough to keep the included armor from slipping, but not so tight that you can't breathe. I think it's good that there is regulation not only at the waist, but also on the sleeves (2 buttons each). Second, the removable protectors fit perfectly, especially on the elbows. Armor on the back of the shoulders and elbows. My favorite thing about armor is the elbows because they extend from an inch or two above the elbow to an inch or two below the elbow, rather than just having a pad in the middle of the elbow. Third, the number of pockets on the elbows. this jacket is amazing. There are 2 chest pockets and 2 outside pockets. There are at least 5 pockets inside and I don't think I've found them yet. One bag I really like is the knife bag. I think the ability to keep that guard close is a definite plus. For riders using headphones, there's also room to keep the cable tangled and out of the way. This is a great jacket if you are just starting out or are a seasoned rider who doesn't want to spend half their paycheck on a jacket then this is the choice. If I had known about this jacket before I bought my first jacket, this $130 jacket would not have been bought. I've ridden in temperatures as high as 45 degrees and I still feel comfortable, and I know the mesh design will protect and keep me cool in the summer. I would recommend this jacket to anyone for any season.
