Bad news: Since they're round and you're installing them in a round hole, they can rotate if the screws that attach them to the door panel loosen. In this case, the latch will not stay in place and may shift. They are also advertised for use on door panels. up to 1/2" thick. You MUST purchase longer screws separately for this. The ones provided will not fit. Correction: I threw away the round backplate and made my own. I made it to match the two holes in the latch plus made it somewhat bigger so I could attach it with a third screw to keep the whole thing from rotating.
