Update: Finally applied and everything worked as expected. The glass bed is thus held on top of the standard bed - no clamps are required. It definitely increases the height (and weight) of the bed while decreasing the height you can print. I've never typed so fast that weight was an issue. Cleaning the glass from the glass was easy so not having to take it off was never a problem. I ended up going back to the standard platform as the materials that adhere to the BuildTak type surface are much lighter and the leveling required auto-leveling. Removal was easy and it slid back into its original packaging, but a few corners are bent so reusing may require some trimming or some pinching. work at will. A thickness of 1 mm should be sufficient for my purposes. Original: I'm giving five stars based on the fact that it arrived as expected and well packaged. Full disclosure as I haven't used it yet. I bought this to attach the borosilicate glass top to the base of the Wanhoa i3 Plus (trademark of Monoprice). The fit is perfect and I have high hopes for the heat transfer. to the glass plate. The problem is that I'm debating the abandonment of the simplicity of a detachable platform for easy part removal or cleaning, so I'm no longer entirely attached to the idea. I still plan on trying this, however, as I suspect heat transfer might improve, or at least the heat would be more evenly distributed. I will update my review after confirmation.
