This is a good solid camera for learning to shoot. It does exactly what is advertised i.e. it is manual in every way. I bought this particular camera from a local store because I was afraid of buying a Pentax K100 SE (which I really wanted) from an online auction. Since I need a camera for my practice, I like having a manufacturer's warranty in case the camera breaks. I ran a roll of film through the camera and am more than happy with the result. The double exposure button is also an added bonus. My only concern is the design of the camera itself. The old 35mm SLRs lasted so long because they were made out of durable materials, mostly metal. There is a lot of plastic in this camera. This makes the camera lighter and feels better in hand, which is definitely a plus, but I wonder how it will hold up over the years. Conclusion: A great student camera, especially for the price (I paid almost the same for a used Nikon that I sold to get the Promacer).
