Review on Japanese Musubi Maker - Set of 2 Spam Musubi Mold Sushi Press Molds by JapanBargain, BPA Free Non Stick | Made in Japan | 2 Pieces, 2-1/4 x 4 Inch by Mike Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great musubi press/mold for the beginner or professional chef for the price.

I first bought 5 of these to make Spam Musubi in Hawaii. This little mold works great as advertised and doesn't stick. I have given away 3 presses to family and friends much to their delight. Since then I've expanded on various combinations such as cottage cheese and scrambled eggs, bacon and eggs with cheese, ham and cucumber slices, shrimp and carrot julienne, and kimchi to name a few. The list of recipes/combinations is only limited by your imagination. Keep in mind that you need a source of fine-grain sushi rice and nori (seaweed) for your musubi to work properly. Also, remember to only cook what needs to be eaten within a few hours, as the nori will eventually become slimy. It doesn't spoil the taste, just the texture. Also note that if you have access to a good Asian grocery store that sells Ebi Fumi Furikake, Samon Furikake, or Noritamago Furikake, feel free to include those in your musubi combos. All 5 received quickly, undamaged and ready to use right out of the box after washing. All instructions for use are in Japanese, but you can easily understand how to use the press from the color pictures. I will be ordering more presses from this supplier in the future.
