Review on ๐Ÿ’ช Rancho RS5118 RS5000 Series Shock: Unleashing Superior Performance and Durability by Bruno Gilbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice Hard Ride for shock absorbers

So call me a fool but I mounted them on the back of my car, stem down and body up. I kept hearing and feeling the axle banging against the frame as I went over fairly small bumps and called customer service. Of course they told me they MUST be mounted with the barbell up. After I swapped them out, the ride was much firmer, less bobbing, and an overall better feel. Now all I have to do is figure out how to keep the rubber boot on the rod on the nearby exhaust pipe from melting. I've learned my lesson, but it's a lesson that shouldn't have been learned. I really believe in reading instructions, warnings etc and there was NOTHING in the materials that came with the shocks to indicate that this was ONLY a 'stick up' setup. So I lowered my rating to four for wasting my time and effort as well as yours. As for the dampers themselves, they're great. I think they look good and give a good stable ride.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
