I've been motorcycle tent camping for years now so I'm limited in space and weight. By this, I mean that I would always have to find an rock or limb that would suffice to drive tent stakes which, depending on where you are camping, can be difficult. I cannot speak to the long term durability of this hammer but it seems to be well constructed. It came with a cheap lanyard that I removed. For the hammer's purpose of driving/pulling tent stakes and digging a hole or rain trench, in my opinion, it's the best rock ever.
