I usually wear 11.5 wide (aka 2E), or 12 regular is a shoe isn't available in a wide size. But the only size I could find for this shoe in a brown color was 11.5 regular, so I gave it a try. Really glad I did, because the width and length are absolutely perfect, with just enough room to accommodate some really thick socks, so I'd say this shoe runs a bit on the wide side. The uppers are a bit on the stiff side, so they hurt my ankles a little, but I assume this will soften up with time. I vaguely remember that being an issue with most of my slip-on shoes when they're new, but since I only ever buy a new pair every 3 years or so, the memory tends to fade. The black part of the sole (the outer part) is VERY grippy, even on ice and snow. And the brown part of the sole (the middle part) is very supportive. That's a great combination that I hope will help these shoes last a looong time. The insulation is wonderful, I just got to test it out today in -15f weather, and my feet never felt cold. with very thick socks, of course. I'm sure the thermal in-sole has a lot to do with that, since it helps prevent cold from seeping in through the soles. These shoes look great and feel great. About the only thing that would make them perfect is CSA green triangle certification with composite (not steel) materials, but finding that here in the US is nearly impossible anyways. This is probably the next best thing.UPDATE: after about a day, the uppers stopped hurting my ankles. Everything fits great now. Love these shoes.
