Review on Enhanced Ghost Meter: Advanced EMF Sensor by Josh Fox

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The best EMF meter for paranormal research.

This little device is a MUST HAVE for beginning paranormal investigators. By far the cheapest commercially available EMI detector, the Ghost Meter has its pros and cons that may affect your purchase. Pros: Cost, ease of use, red light, false alarms, on/off switch. $20 is nothing compared to the average $100 cost for most EMI detectors. For those interested in the paranormal but lacking the financial backing of a professional team, this device is perfect for you. Ease of use is also an important factor when it comes to new paranormal investigators. No additional settings, complicated numbers or key combinations are required to make this device work. Click On and it will work immediately. The red light on the top of the device is handy for several purposes, but it's best to use this light for a stationary EMF meter with a camera attached. Simply place the meter in a room or hallway with the camera pointed at it, and anything spirit passing by will illuminate the meter, which is easy to see when playing the video. False positives are actually very easy to reproduce on some of these gauges, but the Ghost gauge doesn't have this problem. As with most digitally controlled digital meters, simply shaking the device will cause the digital meter to display increased EMF and possibly false readings. You ask why shake the EMF meter? What do you think will happen to him as you leave? Several different counters sold to paranormal teams have been found to have this flaw where walking with the device can cause elevated readings. The Ghost Meter's arrow may bounce when walking, but the red light will not flash even if the arrow goes beyond the green. Only the EMF makes the red indicator go out, which makes this device different from others. Finally, the on/off switch is one of the best switches when it comes to EMF meters. Unlike the K2's loose switch, the Ghost Meter's switch cannot be tampered with to generate false alarms and requires you to intentionally press it to turn it on or off. A lot of people don't think it's a bad thing, a lot of people do. 75% of the devices used by paranormal investigators used AA batteries and a very small amount used AAA batteries. While a 9 volt battery will last longer than the average AA battery (or, like most devices, x2 AA batteries), the cost of buying multiple 9 volt batteries can be a lot less than buying AA batteries in large quantities may be impractical for new paranormal investigators. Finally, the arrow on the Ghost Meter isn't the best because it detects small changes in the surrounding EMF. While digital devices can tell you when an increase of 0.5 is occurring, Ghost Meter will only tell you when EMFs reach 1 via a red indicator. Anything less than 1 and exactly greater than 1 depends on the interrogator and his flashlight. The reason a flashlight is needed is because the arrow and numbers on the display do not have the necessary illumination to read them. You can tell the position of the needle a little by the light emanating from the power button, but that's only because the body is clear plastic and not very reliable. Overall I gave this device a 4 because for the money it couldn't get any better. is it better than you Sure, but if you want better hardware, you pay for better hardware. This device has a long track record of gathering evidence and remains the official EMF meter for most teams.
