On this motherboard, the noise level on this motherboard has risen from normal volume levels to volume levels several orders of magnitude above painful levels several times in the last week, with no warning or volume change requested by the user. Sometimes it's ok for a few days, sometimes restarting several times doesn't fix the sound. I'm using the latest drivers and BIOS, this happens on Windows 10 and Linux (Fedora); At this point I'm almost convinced it's a hardware issue with the sound. So do yourself a favor if you hear crackling when listening to audio, don't wait for it to accidentally turn up the volume 1000x and damage your hearing (or headphones). ) Just get a cheap sound card to replace the built-in USB sound card.
