Review on Kyocera CSN 202 GR Slicer Ceramic Mandoline by Jessica Hutchinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best kitchen items I've ever owned

One of the best kitchen items I've ever owned. I was given one about 10 years ago, it has always been sharp and only recently the plastic edge broke from too much pressure when cutting. I immediately bought another one because I love how it makes a lot of prep tasks so easy. I will note that the adjustment mechanism on this one isn't as smooth as the first one I had, but I expect to be able to change the thickness of the slices fairly often, so bear that in mind before buying anything that you can not change. For me, the highlight of using this mandolin is being able to cut whole, peeled garlic into almost paper-thin chips, rather than chopping the garlic for dishes like tomato sauce, cream sauce, etc. The flavor of the garlic is more nuanced and the slicing is like a dream (just watch your fingers because this thing is SPICY).

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • I won't say anything
