The tool itself works fine. The temperature setting is nice, as is the delivery of different plastic sticks. The only thing that disappointed me is that it is made in China. I was about to buy a Chinese plastic welding machine before I discovered this device. I really prefer to buy products from the USA, even at an additional cost. So I was willing to pay extra for it, and I did. However, when it arrived, the instrument had a "Made in China" sticker on it. Also, the storage box is a bit awkward to use; The parts do not stay in place. Even if you try to put them away carefully, the pieces just float when you open them again. And the wiring in the box could be improved. Again, the welder works great and I've used it extensively on several different projects; But it's still made in China. If you're buying one made in China, it's not clear that the temperature-controlled one is a huge improvement over the $16 fixed-temperature port freight equivalent at a tenth the cost.
