Okay, I just wanted to set up my second monitor. Nothing special. I just needed an HDMI DP adapter so I randomly picked it based on the reviews. I set everything up and found that I might need to select a different DP port on my graphics card. When I tried to pull it out the cases separated and I had to power it down completely and get it with pliers to pry the broken end out of my graphics card. I hope this didn't destroy the input port. Very angry about it; This messed up the rather mechanical installation process and now I have to order a new adapter.
