Review on πŸ–₯️ Acomdata Tango 2.5-Inch USB/eSATA Hard Drive Enclosure Kit in Obsidian Black (Model TNGXXXUSE-BLK) by Jermaine Chowdhury

Well, for the second time, the 1st Corps failed!

The name says it all as I have no problems with a second eSATA/USB 2.5" SATA HD enclosure from Acomdata, no problem at all .. With eSATA in the mix, I've seen up to 140MB/s throughput with this connection method, but a caveat needs to be made here. Apparently with this Acomdata system, the USB system needs to be connected to the case with eSATA cable to use eSATA, so also use USB, presumably for power. Now I have a fairly expensive (approx (two of these cases, one per pc) and these cases do NOT require USB power to run eSATA. 100% difference? In order for the eSATA (unpowered cable) to work at all you have to plug in the USB 2.0 ports as there is no power supply in the tiny Acomdata case. I bought the Case Logic case to match the black Acomdata case and it doesn't fit a bit either as the cables take up so much space inside the There's a case that you wouldn't think an HD case would even fit in (eSATA and a dual USB cable are bulky!) but for some reason it fits in and all is well, to be honest I know didn't but it didn't help I just stopped mounting some kind of HD so I asked Revain.com to trade it in and now everything is fine I have a Western Digital Scorpio "Black" 7200RPM 2.5" Enterp rise HD in this particular case and the Acomdata and WD Black setup works fantastic together, averaging almost 100MB/s from eSATA (140MB/s peak and 70MB/s low speed, averaging around 100MB/s) and solid 35 MB/s with a USB 2.0 setup, commendable! The construction is solid with good materials and connections, as well as great cables for eSATA and USB 2.0 operation. The box comes with a good 'instructions' and 'user guide' I think for beginners as I never had to learn anything special to use the case it's very simple and easy to learn just install the 2.5" SATA HD and I'm good to go!I deducted a star for failing case 1, but other than that the installation is a winner, with nice packaging, good tool guides/manuals, cables and an easy to contact manufacturer if/if you have trouble with have the kit I fully recommend it just note the need for USB when using eSATA that is the only warning needed for this review Black with silver plastic snaps on the ends looks nice and expensive so recommends Wavey Davey this Acomdata eSATA/USB 2.0 Enclosure that's ready to battle with any storage needs you might have, as well as backup. !Wavey Davey - 2 Aug 0, 2011
