We bought these to protect the parquet floors after the renovation. It is recommended that pets not walk on the floor for 14 days. This was not an option for us. Our dog weighs 133 pounds and can play indoors so there were serious concerns about how to proceed. These socks did the job perfectly. I found two flaws. First, his nails were already worn out in several places. Second, the straps are not long enough to attach the socks to the legs. We got around this by unclipping the Velcro and placing it over the lower, narrower part of his foot. We ordered XL. He has a door for dogs, and as long as it's not wet he'll walk in and out calmly in his socks. We just ordered another pair to wash. They seem comfortable to him and he leaves them on their own. We started with just two front socks for a few hours one day and then all day the next day. We switched to all four socks for just a few hours on day three and then had him wear all four all day. Now he wears them all day and we take them off before bed. They also seem to save my leather sofa. We used to keep it closed but it inevitably became detached as the day progressed.
