Review on 💻 QNA-UC5G1T: USB 3.0 Type-C to 5GbE Adapter by Devon Holmes

I purchased this device in March 2020 to increase bandwidth from my Windows 10 desktop to my switch stack and ensure nightly backups stay overnight. A few months go by and I'm starting to notice some stability issues. Connections are broken. try updating your drivers and firmware. no improvement. with time. kept trying to use it but it got worse and worse to the point where windows reports usb over voltage and the device freezes badly. It took some trial and error to narrow down the choice to this adapter, but it definitely is, and it's backed up by testing on a laptop. Contact QNAP support and I'll be challenged on anything. with no faults on your equipment. "What is connected to the USB" "Who made your computer". Bad start. Finally received an RMA and QNAP is asking me to pay for shipping their defective hardware back. The same applies if I pay for an advance payment. Send them broken shit back at me Big. Since they couldn't build it properly, I have to pay more. They received my equipment 2 business days after the RMA was issued, the replacement took 2 WEEKS to get to me. And not because it was sent so quickly. He only spent a day on the street with UPS grounding. arrive in a crumpled, half-torn box. Luckily the replacement device works. for now. but I can't recommend buying this product knowing their track record and I can't imagine NOT buying a QNAP product knowing the quality of their customer support now.
