Review on Reli. Biodegradable 33 Gallon Trash Bags - Eco Friendly Garbage Bags (100 Count Bulk) by Candace Parker

I wanted to believe it.

I'd like to believe in these bags, but there are a number of problems: 1) They're not that good for the environment. If you do a search on this topic, you'll find that these bags are eco-neutral at best, but also likely contribute to pollution as they don't break down in landfills, take much longer to decompose than promised, and may contain (depending on the manufacturing process ) polymers that become tiny plastic objects in the oceans. 2) They break easily. 3) They don't even include zip ties. Leave enough room to tie a knot or have your own supply of twists. 4) They're barely big enough to fit the size of the container they're advertised for. I thought they might be too big. Opposite. In fact, I placed the box on the bottom of my 33-gallon trash can to raise the bottom of the bag so it wouldn't rip at the top of the trash can (see #2). It helped, but only temporarily. The packaging still tends to tear at the top after opening the lid once or twice. Recycled plastic bags represent the lowest-carbon solution in the manufacturing process, but they still don't break as easily. Is paper the solution?
