CAUTION! I think I should have read the box more carefully but when my husband and I pulled them out from the outside we noticed that every time we plugged them into the outlet they would short out and just die. We couldn't understand. They are not designed to be strung on 3 strands so when we assemble them in front of the house the whole chain is shorted and now snapped and should just be thrown away. Why do you only need 1-2 sets of these to stand alone? For outdoor use, of course, they have to be tied together. Very disappointed!
